MY RECORD BAG – ALFIE JACK
Another member of the You&Me, Manchester squad joins us in the form of Alfie Jack!
Originally from the North west of Leeds, the young producer has a host of releases under his belt, including Archie Hamilton’s Moss Co Records, You&Me Records and the elusive vinyl imprint Aesthetic.
Its been a very busy lockdown period for Alfie, whom gave us a sneak peak on some upcoming releases. By the looks of things 2020 is just the start for this upcoming talent.
Over to Alfie…
low Rotor – Space Disco (Instrumental Edit)
The opening track to my latest You&Me mix, which is the reason this mix ended up being vinyl only, it set the direction and sound for the mix.
Urulu – Side Car
I bought this one more recently, so I’m yet to play it out. I’m a big fan of Urulu’s recent productions, especially the ones under his Liquid Earth alias, I know this record will do some damage when the time is right.
Mr. B. Wacka (Bushwacka!) – Traffic Jam
A record ahead of its time and one that stays firmly in the bag, the transition from the initial break into the 4/4 groove and bass is one I’ll never forget.
James Andrew – Thinking Backwards
The new stuff is just as good as the old, a great example of breaks and acid done right. All four tracks on this EP are class.
Mac & Rudedog – Uncle’s Lonely Nights
An early 2000s tech house gem, one track to rule them all.
Words:
