MY RECORD BAG: RUBIK
Leeds based trio Rubik enter the frame for today’s feature of my record bag.
The collective have been building up a strong presence on the circuit, bringing the likes of Fabe and Sanja to Leeds.
The 5 tracks they’ve chosen is a true reflection of their distinct rolling sound which they are recognised for.
We’ll let you enjoy them for yourself.
Over to Rubik…
Hunky Dory – Miffy & Miller
This record was gifted to use by our close friends over at Real Gang, and ever since has made appearances in our sets. Hunky Dory suits our style and is an instant party starter!
Central Erika Casier Drive – Ambient Mix
We originally bought this record for the UKG version on the A side, but after spinning it we instantly fell in love with the ambient mix on the flip which has provided some pretty special afterparty moments
Daniel Stefanik – A2 Liquid
This record we came across in Amsterdam at a hidden away record shop on the outskirts of the city, this beat is more on the housier side of our record collection and never fails to bring the vibe.
Fabe – Ask For Kate
Fabe has been a big influence for us with our music over the past few years and also featured in our spot series parties. This stripped back record, fabe’s groove and subtle vocals throughout makes this a must for a lot of our sets!
Tolga Top – Twenty 06
This was on of the first records that entered our collection and has a bit of a sentimental value as the owner of the label has been a big influence during our musical journeys. Tolga Top have provided the goods with this one. Instant Groover!
